This is a very difficult post to write. I have changed it several times. I have experienced the highest and happiest moments as well as the lowest and saddest moments this week. Master Key 17:16 states, “In realizing great thoughts, in experiencing great emotions that correspond with great thoughts, the mind is in a state where it appreciates the value of higher things.”
With that thought in mind, I am reflecting back on a my friend who has just passed this week. His passing brought into perspective the value of life and how we live it. Because this is still so raw, I just can’t stop thinking about Patrick and his great love of life and people. No one was a stranger to him. Even when he was in pain, one would never know it as he always had a smile on his face. He always made you feel like you were the most important person in the universe while still being totally devoted to his wife.
Patrick traveled to 40 different countries and had a love for different cultures. He enjoyed sharing these different cultures through cooking ethnic foods and sharing stories about his experiences he had in those countries. He gave of himself to others which made us richer for knowing him. He definitely lived as Og Mandino states, “I seek constantly to improve my manners and graces, for they are the sugar to which all are attracted.”
Thank you, Patrick, for your great example on how to live life to the fullest…filled with honor and integrity. Thank you for being my friend. You truly were nature’s greatest miracle.
Onward and Upward,
